Genetically modified foods are foods that have been artificially changed by scientists in laboratories. In theory, any living thing with genes can be modified so why not use the technology to make vegetables fun and look more appealing? In the future, GM technology could even help plants fight off weeds and pests. This means we could produce more food, which could solve the food shortage problem in developing countries. However, campaigners against GM foods say they are a threat to human health and to the environment.
